This is probably the most useful technical book which I have
bought in a long time. I have always been a bit sceptical about
"10 minute"-type books. In my opinion, nothing is quite
as easy as these books might lead us to believe. But I must admit
that this book won me over.
It is neither too technical, nor patronising. (I am NOT a fan
of the "HTML for dummies" approach!). It assumes that
the reader has used a browser before, knows how to navigate
themselves around windows, and can use a text editor. From then
on, the book proceeds at a brisk, but sustainable pace.
Topics include Creating documents, Using anchors and links,
Creating lists, Creating tables, and carries on to discuss such
advanced topics as simple Javascript and adding VRML.
To round things off, there are chapters on HTML editors, and
how to register your web page with search engines.
