These utilities are all "public domain". None of them can claim to be unique. They just happen to be ways I have found to skin the same cats !
Internet Related make_publish.bash - RSS extract utility
Linux shell script which lists the HTML files which have changed on the local hard disk and generates an FTP upload script to upload the latest ones. At the same time it parses some of the HTML to generate a news.xml file for syndicating the changes using RSS. make_publish.bash - 6 KB.
Source Control Booking System book.ksh - Booking Script
UNIX korn shell script which is a self-contained utility to call the SCCS source control system. Being self-contained, all you have to do is ensure it appears in the PATH of the user - all configuration is embedded in the shell script itself. With this utility, you can run fairly intuitive commands such as "bookout filename" and "bookin filename". book.ksh - 8 KB.book.txt - Booking System Documentation
This text file contains more detailed information on how book.ksh is written, and how to configure and "install" it. Also gives a list of commands which are set up as symbolic links by the "install" process. book.txt - 4 KB.
VMS Utilities for UNIX People df.com - df utility.
VMS DCL command file which emulates the UNIX "df" command. You can enter "df -k" at DCL level by assigning the symbol 'df' to this command file. Uses lexical functions to find the correct devices. "Shadow-Set-aware", it correctly reports the sizes of shadow sets, and skips individual physical members. df.com - 3 KB.uname.com - uname utility
VMS DCL command file which emulates the UNIX "uname" command. You can enter "uname -a" etc. at DCL level by assigning the symbol 'uname' to this command file. There are also some additional switches which enable tcp (UCX) information to be displayed. uname.com - 3 KB.
