We have set up an RSS ("Really Simple Syndication") feed from this web site, which can be accessed using the link below.
This RSS file is offered to individuals and non-commercial organizations only. Commercial websites wishing to use Dennis Adams Associates RSS files, please email info@dennisadams.co.uk
You can view the current version of the XML file which defines the RSS feed: http://www.dennisadams.co.uk/rss/news.xml
Technical Notes
This feed is set up using Version 0.91 Netscape DTD. We are considering moving to 1.0. or 2.0 at some time.
The RSS XML file format has been validated by Feed Validator for Atom and RSS
At present, the XML file is generated by "scraping" the contents of all changed HTML files on the website itself, and is updated every time a new page is amended or added. We have also done some rudamentary "scraping" of URLS in the download directories, to identify PDF and PPT files which have been generated recently. You can see how this is done by having a look at the BASH script:
make_publish.bash - RSS extract utility
Linux shell script which lists the HTML files which have changed on the local hard disk and generates an FTP upload script to upload the latest ones. At the same time it parses some of the HTML to generate a news.xml file for syndicating the changes using RSS.
make_publish.bash - 6 KB. |

Typically, new pages are added or amended to this web site every month, so you do not need to have a very fast cycle time to look for changes.
