ITIL, CMMI, MOPS, six-Sigma, LEAN.... (where to start?) A Voyage Thru the Acronyms.
Presentation Abstract:
These days, IT managers are faced with a whole raft of different methodologies and approaches. Are they all relevant? What are the strengths and weaknesses of ITIL, CMMi, MOPS, six-Sigma / LEAN? Are they mutually exclusive?
With a background in both IT technology and processes, Dennis Adams presents a brief overview of some of the process techniques and methodologies, what they offer, and where they may be beneficial to managers responsible for the day-to-day running of IT.

SIG Details:
In 2006 the UKOUG launched a new special interest group - the Management & Infrastructure SIG.
This community is an opportunity to bring together DBAs, Database Managers, Infrastructure Managers and even IT Directors, to help focus on the higher level issues of Infrastructure Design, Product Selection and Best Practise for the whole database landscape.
Whereas other SIGs may focus on the technical implementation of particular Oracle feature, this SIG will help you decide which of those features to implement, understand the method, timescales and costs, and know how they fit in with all the products of your IT infrastructure.
