" brilliant, what a great and novel idea; really interesting;"

Presentation Abstract:

For many companies, the DR datacentre represents a significant cost-sink investment, which is only realised when (horror) DR has to be invoked. Given the pressures on budgets these days, there is an increasing demand to make effective use of this datacentre cost by using it for Production purposes. Despite this, the benefits of a truly "active-active" datacentre elude many companies.

A member of the BCS Datacentre special interest group, Dennis Adams discusses different techniques for making effective use of DR infrastructure, and introduces the concept of a "Co-Active" approach to datacentre management, which can lead to significant sharing of costs.

" Very useful and well delivered; Better than I expected, best paper so far, learned lots!;"

Presentation Abstract:

These days, IT managers are faced with a whole raft of different methodologies and approaches. Are they all relevant? What are the strengths and weaknesses of ITIL, CMMi, MOPS, six-Sigma / LEAN? Are they mutually exclusive?

With a background in both IT technology and processes, Dennis Adams presents a brief overview of some of the process techniques and methodologies, what they offer, and where they may be beneficial to managers responsible for the day-to-day running of IT.
